Jennifer and Alasdair chose to marry in St Andrews Church, Helensburgh –  formerly known as the West Kirk until it united with St Columba Church in 2011- while their wedding reception took place in an elegant  Teepee in the grounds of the Bride’s parents’ home.

Heather and Mark chose one of my favourite wedding venues for their wedding – the beautiful Ross Priory in Gartocharn, Loch Lomond. Unfortunately the weather on the day was atrocious with wind and rain preventing us making full use of the beautiful grounds at the Priory.

Karen and John’s Wedding

Karen and John chose Pollock House in Glasgow for both their wedding ceremony and reception, providing us with the beautiful Pollock Park as a backdrop for the wedding photographs.

I was really looking forward to photographing this wedding, and since Karen and John both have a theatrical background, I wanted to incorporate this into their wedding images, and went for a glamorous ‘Singing in the Rain’ theme with a few ‘Greta Garbo’ poses for good measure.

I had the pleasure of photographing a family wedding last Saturday, when my nephew was married at Duck Bay Marina at Loch Lomond. Both the humanist service and the reception took place at this lovely venue right on the Loch.

What a fantastic year 2012 has been. Yes, the weather has been dreadful for a great part of it, but even when it is pouring there are always some fantastic backdrops in so many of the great wedding venues that we have here in Scotland. From stately mansions, to Fairytale Castles, from contemporary city locations to stunning lochs and mountains,  we are spoilt for choice.

Yvonne and Dominic’s Wedding

The stunning Airth Castle in Stirlingshire was the wedding venue chosen by Yvonne and Dominic. The marriage ceremony took place in the original castle with its beautiful architecture. The interior of the castle has an abundance of great backdrops and features which lend themselves to creative wedding images including the balcony and skylight which floods the interior with natural light. The fine weather on the day added to the atmosphere and pleasure of photographing such a great couple.
